Dee leads annual ride to fight hunger on LI
LIDO BEACH – Kickstands were up in Lido Beach today for Dee Snider’s 13th annual charity ride.
The Twisted Sister frontman led more than 1,000 bikers on a ride from Lido Beach all the way to Robert Moses and then back again.
For the third year in a row, the charity ride donated its proceeds to LI Cares, which helps provide food to Long Islanders in need. Watch the Video
“More than 10 percent of Long Islanders are in need of help putting food on the table, and these are regular Janes and Joes, these aren’t people taking advantage of the system,” Snider told News 12 Long Island. “Everybody has struggles sometimes, and it’s nice to know there is a organization like LI Cares out there.
Among those riding Saturday was News 12’s own Elisa DiStefano, who strapped on a helmet and hopped on the back of a bike for the great cause.
