The Strombo Show r​uns​ the gamut this week, keeping the spirit of radio alive by delivering the best records in the best order. It’s a show for music lovers by music lovers, ranging over three hours of commercial-free music to honour both old and new.

George Stroumboulopoulos was joined by the legendary Dee Snider for an intimate conversation to celebrate his life in music.

Dee Snider is the frontman and songwriter of Twisted Sister and one of the archetypal figures of the hair metal scene in the ’80s with socially-conscious staples like “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock.” They were the Grand Funk of Glam and the New York Dolls of metal. Some considered Twisted Sister a joke, others called them the greatest bar band in the world. After hitting financial rock bottom, Snider signed a new lease on life through experiments with various film, radio, television projects that include his latest endeavour, Dee Snider’s Rock ’n’ Roll Christmas Tale.

Snider explored his affinity with the holidays, the house the Celine built, and his famous role in the PMRC senate hearings of 1985.

Norman Blake of Teenage Fanclub, Kate Tempest and Whitehorse made appearances throughout the program to drop song requests.

Strombo also played exclusive song premieres from Toronto’s Secret Satanists, featuring the former Teenage Kicks member, Jeff Van Helvoort and Choir! Choir! Choir!’s latest collaboration with Reuben Bullock (Reuben and the Dark) that supports Syrian refugee families.
