Together with Dee Snider, the March of Dimes continues to be the champion for all babies. Dee Snider’s Bikers for babies ride is a major source of funding for the March of Dimes. In fact, $.76 of every dollar raised goes directly to support its mission of improving the health of babies, preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The March of Dimes mission is accomplished through programs of community services, advocacy, education and research.
Grand Marshal and celebrity chair, Dee Snider says, “One of the great things about being a biker is that we are part of a community and this is our chance to do something good. The March of Dimes strikes a chord with me. As the father of four, two of my children were born premature, and now, with your involvement and my big mouth, we will do something great and help ensure that all babies are born full-term and healthy!”
The ride is sanctioned by the American Motorcycle Association and all motorcycle enthusiasts are welcome. A small registration fee of $25.00 is required and riders are treated to lunch, entertainment and a host of vendors at the finish. Interested riders may register by contacting the March of Dimes – Long Island Division at 516.496.8198 or via email at gtuohey@marchofdimes.com. Pre-registration and on-line fundraising is also available at www.bikersforbabies.org. All pre-registered riders will receive a commemorative Bikers for Babies gift in addition to the commemorative pin that all riders receive.
