Dee Snider's Rock & Roll Christmas TaleBroadway in Chicago announced Monday that”Beautiful — The Carole King Musical” will play in Chicago for a 12-week limited engagement opening Dec. 1, 2015.

Earlier this year, Chicago actress Jessie Mueller won theBest Performance by an Actress Tony for her leading role in the Broadway musical portraying King, and even joining the singing legend on stage at the 68th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

However, the casting for the Chicago run has not yet been announced, and tickets will go on sale at a later date.

Monday’s “Beautiful” announcement came at the 2014 Broadway in Chicago Free Summer Concert at Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park in Chicago.

Actress Rebecca LaChance, who made her Broadway debut in “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” as a member of the show’s ensemble and serves as an understudy for the King role, was at the finale of Monday’s concert performing a few selections, including “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.”

More than 10,000 audience members filled Millennium Park to watch two hours of live performance musical numbers from the planned performances of the upcoming Broadway in Chicago season.

Josh Young and Erin Mackey sang a number from the pre-Broadway world premiere new musical “Amazing Grace,” opening Oct. 9 at Bank of America Theatre. But up first, “Evil Dead – The Musical” gave the crowd a taste of the mayhem and fun coming to the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place for a limited three-week engagement Sept. 23 through Oct. 12, as performed by leads Callie Johnson, David Sajewich and Andrew Di Rosa.

Kyle Selig and Ariana DeBose, the stars of “Pippin,”direct from Broadway, and playing Cadillac Palace Theatre from July 28, 2015 to Aug. 9, 2015, dazzled with song and a hint of fun choreography.

Young star Adia Dant, just cast for the new national tour of “Annie” joined Macy the dog playing Sandy for a taste of “Tomorrow,” welcoming the legendary musical Nov. 18 to 30, also at Cadillac Palace Theatre.

Other headliners included Dee Snider, offering a serving of “Dee Snider’s Rock & Roll Christmas Tale” at Broadway Playhouse starring in November and Adam Kaplan performing a number from”Disney’s Newsies” opening Dec. 10 at Oriental Theatre.

Other highlighted performances included songs and talent from “Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” “Jersey Boys,” “Kinky Boots” and “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” all returning to stages in the Windy City.
