Most malls aren’t also home to a Broadway-caliber theater, but Water Tower Place isn’t most malls. The Broadway Playhouse stages shows throughout the year, including some that are kid-friendly. This fall, the classic fairytale of candy-craving Hansel and Gretel gets transformed into an all-ages rock musical called “Hansel & Gretel: A Wickedly Delicious Musical Treat,” under the supervision of Emerald City Theatre’s Ernie Nolan and Grammy-nominated performer Justin Roberts (Nov. 22-Jan. 4). And come the holidays, you can see Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider take on some carols with “Dee Snider’s Rock and Roll Christmas Tale” (Nov. 4-Jan. 4).
